October offer sees Yeovil company raise money for animal sanctuary

A YEOVIL company has launched a new initiative to support an animal sanctuary in Chard.

Throughout October, customers can drop off their waste to confidential waste recycling specialists M&J Bowers for them to shred and the company will donate the fee customers pay to The Ferne Animal Sanctuary.

The animal sanctuary previously announced it needed the public’s support if it is to continue rehoming and looking after the hundreds of animals in its care.

The sanctuary, which relies on fundraising through grants and donations, looks after a variety of animals with around 300 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and guinea pigs all rehomed each year – many of which have suffered at the hands of humans.

Managing director of M&J Bowers Andrew Bowers said: “We were looking to support a local charity as being a local business ourselves, we really wanted to engage with the community to support The Ferne for the work they do looking after and caring for animals that is near to the M&J Bowers team.

“It’s also a great way for homes and businesses to dispose of their confidential waste by an accredited company serving the south west for over 50 years.

“Now’s the time to clear out any confidential waste you have from your business or home and raise money for such a worthy cause.”

Your confidential waste can be dropped off Monday to Friday between 8am and 2pm at 11 Brympton Way, on the Lynx Trading Estate, Yeovil, BA20 2HP.

More information on M&J Bowers can be found on their website.
