Shetland ponies delight Frome Nursing Home residents

A 20-year-old Shetland pony, Jude, and a 16-year-old miniature Shetland, Dinky, brought back some fond memories for some former farmers at Frome Nursing Home.

The home welcomed the ponies from Twinnies Petting Farm, who decided they’re rather spend their time inside the home rather than on grass – much to the interest of residents.

A spokesperson for the home said: “During the visit Dinky made a special visit to family members who preferred to be inside, which stirred much laughter seeing a pony walk around a home!

“Two former farmers, Michael and William especially enjoyed the visit and talked about their own farming days, reminiscing about tending to cows and their early morning routines.

“Whilst George, another family member, created interest when curious about how they kept the ponies’ tails clean!”
