A TRACTOR was badly damaged by fire in a field near Frome.
Firefighters were called to the scene, at Witham Friary, at around 3.35pm on Wednesday afternoon (August 21).
A crew from Frome and one from Castle Cary attended and found a tractor well alight in a field.
“Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet,” a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“The tractor sustained approximately 80% fire damage and approximately 15% fire damage to the attached trailer unit.
“Approximately 25 square meters of field were also damaged by the fire.”
The cause of the fire was accidental, they said, and crews were finished at the scene by around 5.45pm.
