LAYTON Dufeu has appeared in court charged with burgling homes in Taunton, Bridgwater and North Petherton.

The 30-year-old, of North Petherton, appeared before magistrates in Taunton on Tuesday (August 20), after he was arrested on Monday by officers investigating a series of incidents which happened between July 29 and August 12.

He was charged with: Burglary with theft on July 29 in Bridgwater, burglary with intent to steal and three counts of attempted burglary with intent to steal, all on August 9 in the same Taunton street, and burglary with intent to steal in North Petherton on August 12. He was also charged with possession of cannabis.

Dufeu entered no plea and was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Taunton Crown Court on September 20.
