Officers responded to a report of a rape shortly before 9.15pm on Wednesday 6 December. They were called to Hamilton Park, Taunton where a police cordon was promptly set up to allow forensic examinations to take place. This was removed yesterday (7 December). Specially trained officers are supporting the victim.

The investigation is being led by Bluestone, Avon and Somerset’s specialist rape and sexual offences investigations team. Their work continues. House to house enquiries have been made and CCTV footage is being examined. Police believe this was an isolated incident.
