Best results for Huish Sixth

This year the publication of A level results has been a big fillip for Huish Sixth, the sixth form attached to Huish Academy. Not only have they had two students accepted into Cambridge (having obtained the grades to meet their offers) but overall results were excellent too. Overall they achieved a record average points score per student (points are awarded for each grade a student achieves with an A being the highest) and all of their students achieved at least 1 grade A*-E, an impressive 93% achieving at least 1 A*- C grade and over 65% achieving at least 1 A*-B grade. Principal Andrew Davis told us “These great results are a real credit to both the students and staff alike who have all worked exceptionally hard together to achieve such fantastic results.”

There were many outstanding results across a wide range of subjects from many students but a special mention must go to the two heading to Cambridge University after achieving exceptionally highly across Mathematics and Science subjects:

Toby Baker who will be studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge University after achieving A*, A*, A* and an A grade in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics

Tom Fielden who will be studying Mathematics also at Cambridge University after achieving  A*, A*, A* and an A grade in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics

In addition five other students with exceptional grades will be moving on to other Russell Group Universities:

Trystan Carter who achieved A*, A and A in Chemistry Mathematics and Physics who will be studying Chemistry at Warwick University

Sam Richardson who achieved A*, A, A, A in Mathematics, French, Further Mathematics and Physics who will be studying Economics at Durham University

Daisy Curry who achieved A, A , B grades in Biology, Geography and Chemistry and will be moving on to study Biomedicine at King’s College London

Ben Gilbert who achieved A, A, C grades in Geography Biology and Physics and will be going on to study Geology at the University of Southampton

Eleanor Richardson achieved A, B, B grades in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry and will be studying Medical Sciences at Exeter University.
