Your chance to meet the general election candidates for Frome and East Somerset

ALL Frome and East Somerset candidates for the upcoming general election will be taking part in a hustings event at the Cheese and Grain on July 2nd from 7pm to 9pm. 

The hustings offers a chance to meet the prospective candidates, put your questions forward about local and national issues, listen to the views of others living in Frome and East Somerset, and get involved. 

Organisers of the event, Frome Town Council, have invited all seven prospective candidates to attend, ahead of the general election on July 4th. 

The seven candidates standing in Frome and East Somerset (in alphabetical order) are:  

  • Martin Dimery – Green Party 
  • Gavin Heathcote – Independent 
  • Shaun Hughes – Independent 
  • Robin Moss – Labour Party 
  • Anna Sabine – Liberal Democrats 
  • David Swain – Reform UK 
  • Lucy Trimnell– Conservative Party

Boundary changes in Somerset, approved by central government earlier in 2024, have increased the number of constituencies in Somerset from five to seven and Frome’s former constituency of Somerton and Frome no longer exists.
