Arrest made after Pride flag set on fire in Weston-super-Mare

A PRIDE flag outside Grove House in Weston-super-Mare was removed and set on fire, police have said.

Officers arrested a man in his twenties of no fixed abode at just before midday today, June 14, on suspicion of criminal damage. He currently remains in the cells.

Avon and Somerset police say: “The flag was removed from outside Grove House and set on fire overnight Wednesday 12 to Thursday 13 June.

“We continue to appeal for information about this incident.
